bbm lost

Upgrade bbm and I'm seeing a blue screen. How do I get it back?

Have you been able to get to and past the BlackBerry ID login screen?

I upgraded, the licence thingy came up and I accepted. Instead of me being able to view bbm I'm seein a blue screen. I didn't see the Blackberry I'd screen

Powered on, remove the battery for a minute, reinstall and reboot. 

Now try BBM  again

Took the batt out, when it powered back on it just said "setting up bb id, then setting up bbm" and it went right back to the blue screen. I'm not seeing anything to reinstall or reboot

So I got past the ID login and now stuck on 'setting up bbm'

Everyone in this thread, try this procedure:

 

  • (OS6 and OS7 devices) From Options > Device > Application Management, delete BlackBerry Messenger, (or On OS5 devices), go to Options > Advanced > Applications, and delete BlackBerry Messenger.
  • Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
  • Then, after reboot, using the BlackBerry browser, go to www.blackberry.com/bbm and reinstall BBM.
  • Try the setup again.

 

If it works, good. If not, try connecting with your WiFi connection ON, or try with your WiFi off.

I am not seeing Blackberry Messenger under my applications. Can I delete the Instant Messenger Folder? It currently says "Can't set up bbm. A temporary bbm server error has occurred. Retry" when I retry I get the same problem

Did you do what I said above?

If you see the BBM icon on screen, and are getting that error you mentioned, it is installed. You need to follow my directions above.
