Re: blackberry messenger Not Responding Rim Error

reboot anyway, Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

If still no relief, you will need to reload the operating system on the device. If you need assistance on that, please let us know.

Re: blackberry messenger Not Responding Rim Error

Ok, let's do this FIRST, before wiping and reload the OS.

  1. ON your BlackBerry, open BlackBerry Messenger
  2. Press the Menu key > Options > Backup.
  3. Make a backup of your BlackBerry contacts to your "local" media card.
  4. Once that is done, proceed below.

  1. Go to your device main Options icon > Advanced > Applications.
  2. Scroll to BlackBerry Messenger on the list and don't click on it, just scroll to it.
  3. Press the Menu key > DELETE. Allow BBM to delete.
  4. Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
  5. Now, using the BlackBerry browser, go to www.blackberry.com/bbm and download.reinstall BBMessenger.
  6. After it is complete, try using BBM again, and if needed to restore the contacts, Options > Backup > Restore contacts.

Re: blackberry messenger Not Responding Rim Error

Yes, a backup on your laptop is fine.

Proceed without the local backup.

Hey you are very very welcome.

The backup is a safety measure. It normally WILL restore on it's own, the backup is just in case it does not.
