Downloaded applications for BlackBerry® smartphones

Hi there, 5days ago I downloaded the latest update for bb messenger. I rebooted the phone as it asked and when it had restored my app world had gone.

I have tried 5times to download it again but it says that its still on my phone. I've also tried searhing for it bt no luck

I called orange (my provider) who said they were not blackberry experts and my only option was to completely wipe the phone. The problem is I don't have a computer or laptop so I can't back up any of my info on my phone!

If anyone has any ideas please help me, its driving me round the bend!

Hey kat,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

Have you checked to see if the icon is hidden?  On the home screen press the menu key and select show all.

Also are you using a 3rd party theme on the BlackBerry?  Try changing it back to the original theme.

Its not hidden (as I've check and searched for it in the search bar) and no I've got original theme!

I got the update icon on my top bar 2days ago and can get onto the blackberry app world through that...so i kno its still installed bt I can't get to it on my phone xx

Completely wipe the phone???  Do me a favor and NEVER call Orange for assistance again, okay?  What they told you is garbage!

Now that my mini rant is over, let's get your App World back on your phone.  First, go to your Applications list.  It can be found by following from your homescreen Options>Device>Application Management.  Look for the app, highlight it with your cursor, press the menu key and select Delete.

Next, plug your phone into your PC via USB and open BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Once your  phone has been recognized, click Device at the top of the software then Restore or Update (either one will work).  Pick the most recent restore point if you chose Restore or click View Other Versions if you picked Update.  With either method, choose the most recent point and load it to your phone.  This will reload App World and the icon to your phone.

Hi I'm having the same problem except when i go into the application list, bb app world isn't there and I've installed is a bunch of times. I've tried unhiding and serching it too.

Thank u everyone so much, I dnt have a laptop myself so I used my mums one! All working now, still annoyed about the lack of technical support through orange bt will come here next time if I need any help! xx
