Aerize Card Loader "Starting Download" just hangs in my ...

Aerize Card Loader "Starting Download" just hangs in my apps world software on the Tour BB... Originally I had the Aerize trial version on my BB, then I uninstall the software to then try and download the newer version and purchase the utility. Now, the world app is showing the software getting downloaded, but just hangs and I can't cancel or stop it. Please advise.

Re: Aerize Card Loader "Starting Download" just hangs in my ...

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Another user has found a solution to this problem and posted it in these forums...it is to clear the application cache:

1. Open App World

2. Go to My World

3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and press "RST"

3b. For Storm -- Hold the num-lock ("!?123") button so it locks and then hit "34("

3a. If your BB locks after issuing the cache clear, perform a battery pull reboot

Hopefully it'll work for you!

If that does not work, then please return to these forums (http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/) and register an account so that we can provide you with direct assistance.

Cheers!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app

2) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

3) Reboot

  • With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
  • See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

Good luck!

Since you "did all of this", what did your mobile service provider say when you contacted them?

I know of no alternative...indeed, your statement of "run" is not accurate. To actually run, an app must be in AppMemory, nowhere else. The only thing that app did was temporarily archive the app to the SD card...but, when the user wanted to run the app, it had to be moved back into AppMemory, then re-archived to the card after the user was done. Rather inefficient, IMHO. But, again, I know of no alternatives.

Good luck!
