Re: App World identity error

Hi tracylee,

I have done some reading up on this issue.

Apparently it's mostly an issue related to Vodacom, because their network gives alot of issues with Blackberrys and this interrupts the download which results in the problem.

I am going to try and connect to wi-fi somewhere sometime, because I have uninstalled and reinstalled AppWorld so many times with no success....

I found a link on blackberry.com which might help some other people.

Re: App World identity error

That is correct, but that is what I said YOU MUST have a good signal otherwise it will not install properly, I also have vodacom and when installing apps I have to make sure that my signal is high so that I don't get installation problems. I have read of people downloading with wifi, some say it works others say it didn't help. But give it a bash and hope it works for you.

Re: App World identity error

LOL I wish I knew where good signal was, because it seems my signal at work isn't good enough either...

So I will try the wi-fi option as soon as I can find someone with wi-fi lol.

I will let you know if that works :smileyhappy:

Thanx

Re: App World identity error

Also, with vodacom I have noticed that when downloading a piece of music, one day my kb/s are about 29kb/s and yesterday I tried and it just wouldn't download and my kb/s were between 0 and 2.5. So when the download speed drops to that amount you can't update or install any apps cos it just won't work. Anyway all of the best and let's hope the download speed picks up soon.

Re: App World identity error

Yeah, vodacom has given me alot of issues, I have made many complaints about it...without any solutions...

I just tried connecting to the wi-fi at work, but there were issues so I gave up.

Seems I will never get my AppWorld back again! :smileysad:

Hopefully Vodacom decides to fix their dam issues so us BB users can use our phones properly for a change!

Re: App World identity error

Hi tracylee,

After much frustration and issues, I have gotten my AppWorld to work with the following solution:

  1. On the BlackBerry smartphone, select Options > Advanced Options > TCP/IP
  2. Enable APN Settings
  3. Within the APN field, enter Internet
  4. Save the settings
  5. Remove the battery from the BlackBerry® smartphone
  6. Insert the battery into the BlackBerry smartphone
  7. Open BlackBerry App World
  8. Attempt upgrade

Note: Once completed, revert APN settings back to normal.

Thanx for all your help and patience :smileyhappy:

Re: App World identity error

I had the same problem, I retried until it said -Installing Blackberry Identity and it's stuck on that message can't do anything. The cancel button also does not respond. How can I fix it?
