App world poor connection - ALL THE TIME

Every time I use app world on my playbook it takes anywhere betweem 5 to 10 attempts to download apps or games. Sometimes it doesnt work at all to the point I get hacked off and dont even bother trying any more Is this normal or am I doing something wrong

Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.

 

Try clearing the BlackBerry® App World cache:


1. Launch the BlackBerry® AppWorld application.
2. Swipe in from the bottom-left corner of the frame to bring up the keyboard.
3. Type rst.

 

Note: BlackBerry App World will not provide any notification that the reset has been performed.

Hi HB,

 

Thanks for getting back in touch but discovered the problem I was having was due to my router, The Netgear DG834GT must be too old to accept the appworld connection (and other intermittent wifi connections via the Playbook). I have now replaced it with a Belkin Play N600DB and all is well

 

Thanks for the tip about the rst to reset the cache though. Dont suppose there is an option available to remove unwanted items from the uninstall list yet
