I am also getting this on my Blackberry 9000 for the last few days and it is driving me mad! I dont know what it is trying to connect to and have trouble getting rid of it. I also get an error come up on its own for rcp2.eu.blackberry.com. To get out of it I accepted and got transferred to key store which then asked for a password. How do I undo any updates from Blackberry messenger which have caused this - have had the phone for ages and only now getting the problem

If you are asked for a keystore password, just use any easy passwort you can remember, or, if you already have a device password use the same for the keystore.
The keystore stores your certificates, and, if you are asked to assign a password, it seems you or an application needs to install a certifacte. This is normal if you keystore had no password and you had no certificates installed previously.
Also try to install the needed root certificates like I outlined here:
dont know, if this helps in your case, but it wont make things worse.

Got series of instructions to follow and was told it was not BBM7 that was the problem - have gone through these and waiting to see if it has solved the problem - looks good so far. Instructions were from prince2012 - not sure how I can send these to you but maybe you can find them in the forum? It involved re registering my BB with my wireless network then sending service books for my e mail accounts.

To download bbm6 I got a link from twitter help @BlackberryHelp which directed me to:
http<colon><slashslash>t<dot>co<slash>bXOjXDX (repair before using as I can't post the proper link here).
That might have been a surrogate and I'm not sure it'll work for you but it might be worth a try.
It should take you to something like:
This won't work from your desktop I think but it might do directly from your phone.

it worked for me, but sending via Outlook to my phone was a challenge as outlook blocked the certificate. Got round it by sending from on line email system.

the solution is in this article from the BlackBerry public knowledge base:
KB33968 "You are attempting to open a secure connection, but the server's certificate chain is not valid." displayed after upgrading to BlackBerry Messenger 7.0.X on the BlackBerry smartphone
