BlackBerry App World Login Problems

Hi,

I am having problems logging in to BB App World to check for software updates.  Using a 9650 on BES. Data connections seem OK (sending/recieving email, phone calls, web sites all works.  WiFi is turned off, so data is via Verizon 3G)

 

In App world, when going to "My World" I am presented with a login screen, username is pre-filled and correct, and I enter my password and it is rejected.

 

Same thing occurs in "My Account" if I try to go to the content filter options.

 

However, I can log in sucessfully on my PC using the web-based storefront, and log in to the payment options in App World "My Account" on my handset.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Can you provide the exact error messages presented when you try? From "rejected", it's impossible to tell...

Also, have you checked with your BES admin to be sure that they are not restricting this in any way on the device?

Further, have you ever succeeded in logging in this way before? If so, what perhaps has changed since?

Further still, is there a mixture of numbers, letters, and/or symbols in your password? If so, are you 100% certain these are being entered correctly on the device itself?

By rejected, it just came back for a new password (at one point incrementing a count of failed attempts), and after the first couple of times, I verified the userid and password using the web-based login and turned off the password masking (the ***) to be certain I was not mistyping it.

 

As far as succeeding before, although the screen had a different look (BBAW had recently been updated) I have logged in there many times.

 

Anyhow, the problem must have been at the server end, because today it "just worked" albeit very slowly.  Hopefully it sticks.
