I suggest this method.

OK...you are going to have to provide better details. Everything you say is contradictory...
"It's a fully functional app" and "but nowhere to be found" don't reconcile...how can it function if it's not on your BB.
Please provide exact symptoms and complete descriptions so that we can hopefully figure out how to help. Tell us where exactly you see that it's "fully functional" as well as where exactly you see that it's "nowhere to be found".

I know it sounds crazy, but it's true! I downloaded App world, downloaded some apps and wanted to delete App World, but it's not in my applications and not in modules either. I've got the icon and I can go to App World, but that's it! my first thought was that it was in the app itself to make it permanent?

When you go into:
what, exactly, do you see? Do you see, at the top right, a button that says "Third Party"? If so, click it and select "Add-on"...AppWorld is there.

Wow! What the heck? I just went into App World, went to "My World", closed it out and now it's in my applications! Also, all the apps that were missing from ControlBPanel are now in there as well. What is going on? Thanks for the help, but I guess it's all good now. Very strange.

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
