I FIXED THE "blackberry identity update needed" thing on App World

Change drop down menu to Add-Ons
Delete entry labeled Blackberry ID
Restart your phone if prompted
Return to blackberry home screen
Launch blackberry app world
When prompted download blackberry identity update
After installation completed, restart your phone

Excellent find...and as documented in an official KB:

  • KB29300 "A BlackBerry Identity update is needed" message appears when launching BlackBerry App World 3.1
