Re: Issue with Beta Zone account

[ Edited ]

I've followed these steps

  • If your confirmed BlackBerry ID username/email does not match your current Beta Zone username/email, you will be given an opportunity to log in with your old Beta Zone credentials to link your accounts. Once you have linked the accounts, you will be taken directly to the Beta Zone Home Page and we will update your contact email right away!

It takes me to this address

https://beta.webapps.blackberry.com/defaults/bbidlink

It prepopulates my email address in there no matter browser or computer I use.  I know it doesn't make sense, I can't figure it out either lol.  It's as if the server is telling me "this is your ID put in your password".  My BetaZone username is Massonite so I don't know why it's putting the email address.  Makes no sense at all.

I type in my old Beta Zone password anyway, and here is what it says.

The specified account has already been linked to a BlackBerry ID. Please enter another account to link, or create a new Beta Zone profile.

I go to create a new one, and it says this.

Email specified already exists in our system. Please login below to link your BlackBerry ID to the existing account.

Re: Issue with Beta Zone account

Massonite, let me ask:

If you go to https://beta.webapps.blackberry.com/login can you use your BlackBerryID email address to login?

Not your username "masssonite", but the email address.

Re: Issue with Beta Zone account

Yes, it allows me to login with my bbid.  It's just the linking part that's the problem.

Does anyone have a contact number for the beta zone support folks?  I suspect they're the only ones that can assist me.

It allows you to login to the Beta Zone with your BBID? Isn't that good?

Re: Issue with Beta Zone account

When I login to Beta Zone with my BBID, it tells me that this email address is already linked to another Beta Zone account.  This happened because I had to recreate my BBID due to too many PIN changes (I go through a lot of phones lol) and I just want to transfer my Beta Zone account to my current BBID.

Re: Issue with Beta Zone account

I've asked a contact at BetaZone to read this thread. You should hear from someone.

Re: Issue with Beta Zone account

Massonite, I was asked to ask you to try logging into BetaZone again.

You should be able to get by it now.
