Trouble connecting to App World Server

I downloaded app world on my BB 8830 (on the Telus network) but every time I try to run it I get an error saying "Blackberry App World is having trouble connecting to the Blackberry App World server.  Verify your network connections and try again."


WHat connections should I be verifying?  My web browser works fine.  What else shouldI be checking?

the requirements are here :

to be cristal clear, you have to make sure you pay for a subscription entitled "BlackBerry Data Plan".
