Re: app world: 'data service is not operational'

Hi and welcome to the forums!

"In BlackBerry App World™ 2.0 or later, an active Mobile Data Network is required to access the application for the reason that BlackBerry App World will need the mobile country codes (MCC) to function on the wireless service provider's network. A Wi-Fi only network does not supply the MCC information. This is an expected behavior."

Thanks,

Re: app world: 'data service is not operational'

Ok but how I can be sure that actually my data transfer charges are zero? In my previous Samsung I had the box to tick which said that if WiFi is available than data transfer is only conducted by WiFi even if the Data services of provider are ON. I am afraid  that some pages could still trick you into pulling Data over much more expensive provider service not free WiFi hot spot.
