Thank you Speed! The ICON just showed up yesterday! I went through my Verizon Carrier to figure this out but nothing was listed. I followed your suggestions and it is gone! I placed a called and pushed the L key twice and it disappeared!
Thank you!

My Blackberry Bold from AT&T just started showing the same icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen during phone calls. I have this phone for 18 months and never saw it before. Does anyone know what it is?

Speeds - FYI -
THANK YOU!!!!
This post (eventhough) two years ago - has saved me countless hours of trying to get the "boost icon" off of my bb screen. I should have come here first - spent an hour last night going through BB options and settings and then another 30 minutes today. It did affect my calls without a headset and all calls started to sound muffled (i think it was my mistake of hitting the L button and greatly increasing the bass or something)....anyway - your post allowed me to quickly get it off. Thanks much.

it means that inthe past:
to see that notification :
home screen >> messages >> view folder >> browser messages
then you can either open the notification, mark it as read or delete it.
