Browse link that launches Google Maps?

Does anyone know if it is possible to produce a link in the BlackBerry browser that launches Google Maps (downloaded and installed on the BB) locally and passes in a starting location?

Does this represent a security breach?

I wouldn't think so since <tel: > links can dial phone numbers and <mailto: > links can launch new email messages.

Is there a <map: > tag that can launch?

Thank you for your help.

I don't know.
but I know it's very easy to create a link that will open the Google Maps website with the address.
It's a subset of the functionalities of the Google Maps application for Blackberry, but it's better than nothing.
