DST in Argentina

Argentina should start DST by 10/17 but was cancelled by the government.

I have downloaded the latests patch for DST in 2009 that included the forecsted DST, but now I have the clock not matching with the real time due the time did not change.

I would loke to be advised if a new DST is going to be released to correct this issue.

Thanks and regards,

Alex

Re: DST in Argentina

I have the same issue and I do not know how to solve it. I have the clock one hour ahead, I also have plenty of reccurent meetings that now are set in the correct time.

Can someone help me or provide me a workaround?

Re: DST in Argentina

But in 1 or 2 weeks the ADT will change to AST and the DST will end, so you will be -4 instead of -3? This can be a good workaround to have the correct hour in the BB for 1 or 2 weeks only.

And my main concer is how do you manage the recurrent meetings you are invited into? They are all set up automatically according to the TZ difference between the orgainzer TZ and the Buenos Aires Time Zone and due to this they are all incorrect.

Re: DST in Argentina

I got a BES Server in Brazil that attends all users from Latin America including Argentina.

I cannot revert the patch applied to DST because it will cause problems to Chile and Brazil's user.

I noticed that patch applied it loads a kind of XML file  (.sql) and the settings for Argentina is out there. I was wondering to change the values for argentina in there and reapply the patch.  Once it is a very critical environmet in my company, I would like to know if some one were able to test something like that before. Or if someone has any other idea, update, patch or anything that could address this issue.

Thanks in Advance,

Re: DST in Argentina

I am not a BES administrator, unfortunatelly I am Argentine and we have a mad president that tends to make changes with less than a week in advance.

Regarding the BB I change my BB TZ to (GMT -3 Georgetown) and this way I think it woud be definitely solved, until next year president mood. I understand that the -3 Georgetown does not have DST settings, am I rigth?

I also set the recommended settings in my Windows XP (according to www.microsoft.com.ar/dst). They recommended to edit the registry but they missed to explain how to re-arrange meetings in outlook so I managed to use the outlook TZ updater and I think everything is fine rigth now.

I am not glad with our president but I would have thougth that someone from Rim would answer how to manage this situation.
