Delete read only file image????

I cant seem to delete some images on my phone which a friend sent to me through blackberry messenger. I tried deleting it and i can still see the thumbnail but when i open it there is nothing there and when i try deleting it again it askes me if i wish to delete the file as it is a read only and i press yes but it will not delete!!!

someone please help me I need to get rid of these pictures

You're likely only seeing the thumbnail image which might remain even after deleting the picture, since the thumbnails are created during a boot up of the device..

Do this: With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

Now check your pictures folder again.
