Hi everyone!
I'm switching from my old (but beloved) curve 8520 to a new bold 9900 and i would like to know how is it possible to (safely) transer files (mail, contacts, numbers etc) from my old device to the new one. My idea was to do a back up of my 8520 and than upload it to the bold 9900. is that the right way to transfer file?
Thank you for your advices!

I'll tell you exactly the steps I take.
Open BlackBerry Messenger (if you use it) and go to the Options > Backup and backup your BBM contacts to the media card.
Connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Software and to Device > Backup and complete a full backup.
Then, follow this link for using the Switch Device Wizard to completely move all settings, preferences, apps, messages, calendar, contacts, etc., from the old device to the new.
Then, remove the SIM card from the old device to the new.
Move the Media Card from the old device to the new (if your new device includes a newer, larger media card let's deal with that separately, just ask.)
Then, if something were to go bust, you have a backup on the PC in reserve, if needed.
