I just started using a tour, my first blackberry, and was in disbelief of the placement of the period and the @. What is the reasoning for this? Is it like this on all blackberries? Why don't the fix it?

Actually, the space bar DOES insert a period in TO/CC/BC fields (ie BB email appplication). It also works for Enterprise Activation too.

For the EA, it will insert an @ first, then period for each space pressed.

But seriously, if thats your biggest worry with the BB then I think they(RIM) have done  a marvellous job with the BB!

Personally  I love the key there and would hate a seperate period key. I think it would be completely superflous.

So BB cant handle EVERYONE's wishes and hopes... we all have to make adjustments and sacrifices.

PS: the 75% of people who complain are just that - complaining. The other 20 million people who DONT read those forums and thus Dont voice how much they like that feature  arentposting, so you cant see how your in the minority!

I have a different "period" problem, when typing and hit the space bar, a period will appear once about every 5th to 10 time I space??  Is there a shortcut that I am unaware of?

1. It will help in the future if you would stated at least what model BlackBerry device you have.

2. In the future, please learn to create your own thread when you have your own personal issue to discuss... even if your issue might be "similar" the originally posted. yours is not the same, and posting in a existing thread like this just clutters the original posters thread. The "New Message" link is at the top left of each forum section page.

3. Do you have any problem with any other keys? The only shortcut to enter the period automatically at the end of a sentence is to press the space key twice.
