Hi Everyone,
I have researched as much as I can on the GPS functionality but cant seem to find the answer I am looking for. Some organisations recommend that GPS be turned off by policy on a Blackberry because it transmits your co-ordinates that can be used by other non friendly types to track you. BTW I find this scenario completely ridiculous but still need to address it anyway.
So, can anyone tell me if it is possbile for someone or some organisation (not emergencey services) to track you in real time based on information sent from the GPS capabilities of your Blackberry without you knowing about it?

Like Lojac and Onstar can??
Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not all out to get you!
(Couldn't resist, sorry)
Thanks,

Not really like Lojac and Onstar. Check this link out to a hardening guide and go to page 22.

The only thing I can think of is that they really believe that as part of assisted GPS, Blackberry devices send their coordinates over the mobile network which are then interecepted by bad guys who track you using this data. I find this whole scenario just ridiculous at best. But if there is a possiblity that this is even remotley possible then I guess they have a case. Thanks for any responses in advance.
