Home screen icon & notification symbols

Often you'll see an icon on your homescreen or in the notification bar you don't recognize.

Many of those icons have been compiled here for easy reference.

If you don't see the one you're looking for in the picture below, yours could be from a third part application, such as a weather app.

If you have questions about one on your device you don't see listed here, please ask in this thread.

Re: Home screen icon & notification symbols

I have a new icon on my BB Bold this morning.  It is to the left of the GPS icon and looks like a an broken 'N'

Any idea what this is indicating?

I saw that asked a few days ago.

Could you post a screen shot of your screen with symbol here?

Re: Home screen icon & notification symbols

[ Edited ]

I just posted the instructions for a screen shot above...

BUT, it doesn't matter, I found the symbol, I just don't know yet what it is. Is this the one you're seeing?

I am asking some friends if they know.

Re: Home screen icon & notification symbols

Ok, found it...

It indicates Near Field Communications (NFC) is enabled on our device.

Re: Home screen icon & notification symbols

The icon I'm trying to identify, must be a third party app, but I'm going crazy trying to identify it.  It's so small and is blocked by the red asterisk that I can't even give you a description.   Maybe a person sitting in an airline seat?  The only two airline apps I have are Southwest and British Airways.  I've searched their sites.  Nothing.

I have a screen shot, but when I click on the tree symbol, it only gives me the option of inserting a URL, not anything from my computer.  Advice?

Re: Home screen icon & notification symbols

I have a Yellow(may be referred as Gold color also) star appearing on the notification bar and cannot understand what it is. Tried to reboot many times but it does not go off. Any idea on what it stands for? And how to remove it?

Yellow star/flower symbol might be snap secure/smrt guard.
