The notification icon on my blackberry home page is a yellow star which doesn't go. In my mail box i saw an update with the same icon which says "Advanced Ram Optimizer". I am neither able to open this mail nor able to mark it opened. When I delete the mail notification icon still remains. I have done a hard restart of my mobile 10-15 times the icon still appears, the mail comes back again and it can neither be opened nor can be marked as opened. Pls help

That yellow start is a notification of the new advertising message.

The Ram Optimizer is known to spam you with adveritising.

Delete that app.

i never installed the application i have checked my application list many times. I dont even have an application from the advertiser...

The others who have reported this same issue have had a free app from that developer... perhaps it is another free app you have installed

Ths notification started coming some 3-4 days back, i rechecked no such free app is installed in my blackberry...pls suggest how to remove this star symbol, is it possible that the symbol goes after formatting the phone

On your homescreen... the star notification is located on the notification bar.

Click on that you should see the notification screen... and a line with that notification.

click on it... where does it take you?

As I said in my previous posts - It doesnt take me anywhere, infact it doesnt show an unread message/mail.

In case i remove the battery and re-insert it, the same Advanced RAM optimizer mail comes back - but neither can i open the mail nor does the yellow star icon vanish on deleting it
