Re: How to Extract BBM contacts from Blackberry Backup?

BBM contacts can be back up locally in the media card or onboard device memory. However, if would like to user .ipd backup and then restoring it then follow the steps mentioned below -

(After having a backup using Desktop Software)

To restore specific databases in the backup file to a BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

For BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0 to 7.0

  1. Open the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
  2. Click Device.
  3. Select Restore in the list.
  4. Select a backup file.
  5. Choose Select device data and settings.
  6. Select the databases to restore and click Restore.
  7. A warning will appear that all data will be replaced with a backup file. Click Yes.
  8. When the process is complete, disconnect the BlackBerry smartphone from the computer.
