How to change Blackberry ID associated with my phone

[ Edited ]

Hi,

How can I change the Blackberry ID associated with my phone?

When I try to change it from the options it says Invalid Password although I can login with the new ID from the web broswer.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Samer

Re: How to change Blackberry ID associated with my phone

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Here is a KB that discusses that situation:

  • KB26694 How to change the BlackBerry ID on a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet or BlackBerry smartphone

The resolution is drastic, I agree...but it is what it is.

Good luck and let us know!

Re: How to change Blackberry ID associated with my phone

Thanks.

Well here's the thing though. I was able to login to App World with my new ID and connect it to my phone.

So doesn't seem like the "only one ID" setting is very rigorous.

I guess I will have to do a wipe eventually to get this sorted out.

Via the PC/Browser/USB tether? Strange...but that does not affect the actual association between the BB ID and the BB. If you look in the BB Options, in the BB ID area, you will see that it's still associated with the old BB ID.
Regardless...

As the KB instructs, yes.

Good luck!

Painful and a huge waste of time but looks like this will work.

Just did the wipe, configured blackberry ID, and restored from backup.

Still have to redownload a lot of the apps but at least I finally have a clean Blackberry ID.
