Hi,
I've recently received as a gift a blackberry phone that was bought from a different country (Vodafone Spain). The phone is not sim locked and my Orange prepay sim worked just fine until i've activated the Blackberry data plan for prepay.
The problem is the the bb service that i've paid for is not working (edge in lower-case + not receiving the hosting routing tables) - i've tried battery pull, whipe, reinstall os, etc and eventually i've written an email to Vodafone Spain regarding this issue but haven't received an answer yet.
Having spoken to my Orange dealer i've been told that the Vodafone Spain dealer has to delete my blackberry from their bb service. If they refuse to help is there any other solution to the problem i ran across?
Sorry for my bad engRish.

They must remove the PIN/IMEI from their user database, there's no other solution.
The device thinks it is still in use on the previous user account.

Managed to contact Vodafone ES but they've confirmed that my IMEI/PIN are not associated with BB Spain (the phone was new when i received it).
- the phone is not locked to any carrier - checked using MEP
- data plan is activated (payed for it)
- tried whipe, reinstall OS
- the handset is not stolen - IMEI/PIN do not appear as blocked
Any other solution?
Has anyone tried changing the IMEI/PIN?

You cannot change a device PIN nor IMEI, they are hard coded to the device.
You just need to get your money back on the purchase and purchase a device that works on Orange. I don't know why that one isn't, the suggestions above should have worked.
