Please help!!! i have changed my blackberry to another device and have no conatcts on my sim!!! how do i get all contact and or any other settings onto the new device?? I am now lost at work .......help needed.

the hard way is to take your old Blackberry, and in the addressbook, copy one by one every single contact from the device addressbook to the SIM addressbook (hit menu then "copy to SIM".

easiest way is to use the desktop manager. There is a feature called "switch device". IIRC it will allow you to transfer some datas from the old to the new blackberry.

.... I thought that was the case however i am not having any luck with that, when i add the new device it says that a fatal error has occured and to retry??? i dont know why this is!!!

Is the new device also a BlackBerry? Then you should be able to use the Switch Device Wizard.

If you are getting that error, two things: 1) disconnect your BB from the USB and reboot the PC. Plug in the BB to the USB and restart DM. Try again.

2) Make certain your USB cable is connected to one of the PC's main rear USB ports. Not a USB hub, nor a monitor USB port, nor a USB port on the front of the PC.

Thanks for your help have done it the manual way as was having no joy and needed numbers asap it took me an hour!!! i have another big query though, i need to use my smartphone as a tethered modem on my toshiba ruinning windows xp ......how do i do this, do i need a honours in IT ??
