Suspended. Reason: 116 - Invalid Identifier

Hello Everybody,

 

I hope someone here can help me.

 

My Blackberry Curve stopped receiving or sending data comunications last night.  My service provider(Rogers) troubleshot the issue down to the RIM servers.  Rogers stated that they could not access the RIM envirnoment to resolve this and I was given a phone number.  1 800 327-9085 

 

It looks like I need to pay for a support call in order to have my Blackberry reinstated. This is of course ridiculous...since it was through no fault of mine that this issue has occured.

 

The error message: Suspended. Reason: 116 - Invalid Identifier

 

How can I resolve this ?

Call Rogers back and ask (demand politely ) that  your issue be escalated to the RIM tech support level, for free. They will do that. There is no reason for you to pay for per incident support.

 

Rogers would not give you any reason for the Suspension?

 

What was suspended, your Rogers account, your PIN, your what?

Rogers told me that it wasn't on their end rather on the RIM server side.  They didn't know why it was suspended... they didn't doing the suspending.

 

I agree with you on paying for the support and that they should be the liason. I will try again with them.

well that was bad timing dany_s.  I just refreshed and updated my post and it moved in the meantime... gone...

 

 

Here's a summary..... too bad about having to pay ..... however a trend has been noticed this morning.... depending on how many users are impacted no doubt will affect the speed of the investigation.

 

Sitting and waiting....ok for today(wfh) ... Monday will be a different story if I'm still dataless.

So did you call Rogers back to be transferred to a RIM tech?

Yes, the Roger tech spoke with Rim while i was on the other line and got things unsuspended apparently....only they didn't which I didn't find out until after I hung up.

 

So, still no email. No connectivity to RIM servers.

 

Rogers say they won't support unlocked phones and that I need to call RIM.

 

My Rim is still suspended...on the phone now with Rogers trying to get them to transfer me to a RIM extension with a real person and no charge.  Hopefully they will.
