Transfer file to Blackberry without SDCard

Hi,

I'm trying to load on to the device (from a Desktop computer) some database files that will be used by my application. I'm planning to build it for OS 4.2 and use the FileConnection api to access the database files. My problem is that it's not clear to me if/how I could transfer the db files to devices that don't have an SDCard. Can files be loaded to any directory using the Desktop manager? Or what would be the solution for this?

Thanks!

Re: Transfer file to Blackberry without SDCard

Hi There!

The easiest way, IMO, is to configure your BB for Mass Storage Mode, whereby your PC will have an additional drive letter (2, if there is also an SD card in the BB) that represents the BB. Instructions are here:

Those instructions are written for prior desktop software versions, but they are essentially the same. You can obtain the version of your choice of DTM here:

Good luck and let us know!
