After the ten attempts have been used, There are three routes, and only three, to achieve this.

* Purchase a MEP unlock code from a MEP unlocking vendor on the internet. Be wise and make sure you purchase from one with a good reputation and with good reviews and feedback.

* IF your device is in warranty, contact your service provider technical support. Tell them you have this issue which needs to be escalated to RIM level customer support. I'll warn you that most carrier technical support people will first assume and think you are referring to a device security unlock, and you will need to convince them otherwise and explain clearly what you need. THEY will not be able to help you because the carriers themselves cannot unlock a device which has had the MEP code attempts depleted, and should (and you will need to ask) to have the case escalated to RIM level tech support.
* If your device is out of warranty, contact RIM direct. See the Contact Us information from the website: http://ca.blackberry.com/contact/ The options you want to select to speak to BlackBerry Customer Care are 3 (for inquiries, orders, billing, e-RMA etc) then 5 (e-RMA and Out of Warranty).

Make sense? Good luck.

MEP Code need for an Etisalat Blackberry Curve 8520 - 8 MEP left

[ Edited ]

Hi !

Have my Curve 8520 and seems to be working fine on roming while having the service provider "Etisalat" sim in it. Now that I want to use the other sim it does ask for MEP code.

I have called & emailed Etisalat (service provider) who state that I need to get in touch with Blackberry support to have this matter resolved.

Its requested to please provide me with a MEP code for the following:

Modle : Curve 8520

OS: 5.0.0.1093 (Bundle 1807, Platform 5.2.0.113)

IMEI : [removed personal information]

Would appreciate your help.

Regards,

Adrian

Pretty much the reason that this thread is in the legacy section of the site rather than the BB10 section...

Re: Unlocking your BlackBerry Guide

To Determine if BlackBerry 10 device is locked or unlocked:

  1. Open your main Settings by swiping down from the top bezel.
  2. Tap Security and Privacy
  3. Tap SIM Card
  4. On that screen, if Network, Network Subset and Service Provider all state "unlocked", you're unlocked.

For BlackBerry 10 devices including the new BlackBerry Z30, Z10, Q10, and Q5:

  1. To unlock your BB10 device just get the new Sim Card you would like to use, or any other Sim Card except for the original one.
  2. Put the Sim in your device, at that point you will be prompted to enter the unlock code.
  3. Enter the code we provided and click OK or Enter and your device will be fully unlocked. Its that easy!

Re: Unlocking your BlackBerry Guide

I went through the steps you provided to unlock my BB 9810 and I got to the screen where I enter my  unlock code, and I must have taken too long because I was trying to double check my input and the screen cleared and said "10 remaining", so I entered it again and it said 'invalid code' and now it won't even bring up the screen to enter the code again.  Am I missing something?

No, you don't seem to be missing anything... try rebooting the device and try the MEP code again.
