Using certain apps

I downloaded the gettag.mobi app as I am a 17 magazine reader and I see the pictures to scan all the time. It said i may be charged extra to use it. I have blackberry social add on. If i have wifi will it cost more money? Will it cost more at any time.?

Re: Using certain apps

When I first got the app it said additional data charges may be required or something along those lines. I don't know if that because they'll open to the internet or if its something different?

Re: Using certain apps

If you're accessing it over Wi-Fi, it will not cost you anything extra.  Certain apps put that disclaimer in so that you don't get a surprise on your cell bill when you thought you wouldn't be using any data.

I'm not completely familiar with the PlayBook but if you go to Manage Connections (or the equivalent on the PlayBook) and click Service Status, that will show you how you're accessing BlackBerry Internet Service.  If it says Wi-Fi, you have nothing to worry about.  If it says Mobile Network, post back and we'll have a look at that issue.

I hope that helps you.  :smileyhappy:
