email account validation

[ Edited ]

I am having problems configuring a specific account to my device. I know the email address works, as it is doing so in Outlook and I have also used the BlackBerry Email Validation Tool which also confirms the same. However everytimne I receive the following message:

"An error occured duruing email account validation. Please check your information and try again."

Thanks in advance.

Re: email account validation

Ensure that that particular email support POP3 or IMAP protocol. Also get the advanced configuration from the email administrator like, server detail (Incoming/outgoing).

Re: email account validation

Typing www.blackberry.com/integrate from the phone's browser has helped many people with their email woes.  I'm not sure if that what you meant by "the BlackBerry email validation tool" but give it a try.

Re: email account validation

I can't add my email to the system (BIS), that's where the error occurs. I know all the details are correct and they are verified via the EAVT (https://www.blackberry.com/eavt/user/EAVT.html) that evrything is OK but it wont let me add that account.

Re: email account validation

I am having the same issue. My server Hostpapa wrote the following when I opened a ticket with them...

We see that the issue was caused by RIM’s servers going down recently. Once their servers came back up, they tried to push too much information to ours, and many other shared hosting servers, which caused some of our servers to raise a block. We are working on the issue to unblock all Rims IP ranges. We believe we unblocked them all already, but this information isn’t published anywhere, to our knowledge, so we also ask that you check with RIM to provide us with the specific IP they believe is being blocked so we can add it to our list, and help them resolve the problems they’re having.

Your emails will work on any other device, email software, or through webmail here.

To answer that part -- you have no direct method to contact RIM (well, not for free at least). Your sole method, as per your contract, is to contact your mobile service provider and, if they need to, they can escalate into RIM at no cost to you. There is no method to, for free, bypass as that is what is required per all contracts covering formal support services for BBs.

Good luck!
