I'm currently coding a game application using j2me for mobiles and have a bit of trouble with BBs. This games needs to be distributed online, OTA style! That's where my problem with BBs start.
I'm using a personnal webpage for testing purpose: www.y3k30.com. This page hosts a regular jad/jar couple and one where I modified the jad to make the jar url inside it absolute instead of relative.
With a HTC touch I can use both versions, both download, install and run fine.
The thing is I need it to install and run on BBs. I've got a 8320 and 8120 for testing purposes using Orange France operator.
On both BBs, when I try to install the game by browsing to my website and clicking both the jads, I always get the same errors: -> I'm prompted to accept the jar download -> A few seconds after I accept dl, I get an error telling me the dl is impossible. Détails are: "907 invalid jar HTTP 403:forbidden" -> if I use the direct link to the jar, I get the same 403 error.
That happens only with BBs...
I've read a lot of forum posts about that problem (maybe not enough?) and did not find an adequate solution. The applications has to be accessible from a web site, so any offline solution to install j2me apps do not interest me.
I hope you can help me in any way, because it's driving me nuts. I thank you all in advance. cheers
