need help transferring service from a Blackberry Bold 9000 to Blackberry Torch 9800

Hello

I gave my father a new blackberry torch for Christmas.  When I bought the phone the guy at the ATT store said that we just had to insert the Bold's SIM card into the Torch and we could follow the set-up.

Unfortunatley non of his contacts are saved on the SIM from the BOLD so we cannot import the contact or set-up the e-mail.

I have tried to use the tutorials ont he ATT site for both the BOLD and TORCH and not having any luck.

Can anyone help out a girl on Christmas??

Thanks

Merry Christmas

Hello ktammy and Merry Christmas,

Its easy if you have a computer. Just download the BlackBerry Desktop Software from the BlackBerry site and install it. Under the Terminal choice of that software, there is an option to change your terminal. Follow the directions, and you will be happy in less than half hour.

Yes,

Via PC, use these instructions:

  • KB16291How to use the Device Switch Wizard to switch to a new BlackBerry smartphone

Via MAC, these:

  • KB24664Switching to a new BlackBerry smartphone with BlackBerry Desktop Software 2.0 for Mac

Good luck!
