Access to message list icons as characters?

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to access and use the message list icons (i.e. unread envelope, open envelope, draft with pencil, send tick, etc) within our own apps when drawing say listfields etc?

From what I can see from the limited api documention its states as follows :

"public static interface Message.Icons

Defines character representations of the various message status icons."

And delving into the theme cods they do appear to be constructed from sets of pngs into the loaded fonts themselves rather than separate load/display bitmaps so for instance when you change the font on the device the images change along with it.

So it appears they are almost like extended (unicode) characters in the character sets and hence should be accessible in some way via that? Perhaps as text rather than bitmaps with special range of unicode maybe?

It would be great if possible so does anyone know any more info on this at all?

Thanks,

Derek
