Dear all,

My application got denied by Appworld for the second time. The reject e-mail is very brief, and replying to that e-mail won't help because they wouldn't reply. Is there anyway for me to contact the people who tests our app so that I can get more information so that I know where to fix? My app runs alright on my device. The problem is I don't know what device / os they use for testing. The e-mail from AppWorld is as follows:

Application fails for the following reason:

"If the user launches the application then the user notices that after few seconds of the application launch , application exits to the device menu."

Hi,

    You install your apps to Real devices so you got your problem and i hope you call any methode like getScreenClose so check that.

I've run it on a real device - Curve 9300 O/S6, used it for a week before I received the reject e-mail from Blackberry.

During submission, i've picked all 59 devices from the Device Support option.

Perhaps the person who tested the app used a device that has a lower version of O/S. However my app requires internet connection - either TCP Wifi or TCP so I was hoping to ask them under what environment was the app tested on.

If I can contact them then I don't have to wait until my app gets denied again after waiting for another week.

For a start pick only the devices that you have tested on. If it will be approved, move on to other devices.

What JDE did you compile with? Have you tried your application in various simulators?

I believe they usually test the application on a number of devices.

I compiled with JRE 6.0.0 using Eclipse.

I have *just*  tried with all the O/S 6 simulators:

- BlackBerry_Simulators_6.0.0.431_9650-Verizon.exe

- BlackBerry_Simulators_6.0.0.436_9330.exe

- BlackBerry_Simulators_6.0.0.436_9670.exe

- BlackBerry_Simulators_6.0.0.534_9300.exe

- BlackBerry_Simulators_6.0.0.534_9700_Asia.exe

- BlackBerry_Simulators_6.0.0.546_9100_Asia.exe

- BlackBerry_Simulators_6.0.0.570_9800_Asia.exe

- BlackBerry_Simulators_6.0.0.587_9780_Asia.exe

And I've just resubmit, this time i only selected the above eight models (instead of 58 - which many of them doesnt support O/S 6) on the device selection screen. I pray that it gets approved.

I wonder who can I contact for more info if it gets declined again (touch wood)

If you are compiling in 6.0, you can't just expect it to work on a device using 4.6 without taking some things into consideration. If you compile on 6.0, it's forward compatible but not necessarily backwards compatible.

Test on the devices you are releasing for and if necessary, make changes to your code or compile with older compilers.

If your app requires internet/data access, does it state that in the description? Also, even if a data connection is required, the app should still open and notify the user that a data connection is required and wait for a response before closing instead of just exiting.

My app shows a dialog saying "Your internet connection is either slow or unavailable. Please try again. If problem persists please contact your service provider." User clicks OK and then either try again or exit app.

Good point about the description. I shall mention it when I submit.
