hello all,

i have a strange problem,

when i call the link of a kml file to open BB maps from browser, the kml displays but it doesn't recognise the LineStyle for lines within the kml.

but when i go to BB maps, kml, add kml url, enter the same url, it works fine and it recognises the KML styles.

the catch here is: when calling the kml url from within java app on richmapfield, it gives the same behavior as when i call it from browser.

please help

kml is supported only if MDS transport is used to get the kml data. It needs to be transcoded by BES as we do not support direct rendering of KML.

Just found this thread when googling.... works for me after omitting the "#" before the color statement of the line. and, even if the previous poster said it only works with the MDS browser: works, regardless if I use the MDS browser, Internet browser or WiFi browser.

I tried out a few 2 more phones.

found a 9550 which will not display kml in BBmaps with the wifi browser. But will work with the internet browser.

Is there an official KB/Document where I can find further Documentation about this topic - especially regarding different OS versions ?

I read the developer Docs about KML support for 5 and 6, but nowhere is mentioned that a BES server is required - or I maybe have not read it thoroughly enough ?

I Ended up drawing the kml myself as I needed to support OS5 as well with in app maps
