Re: BBM contacts limit

There will be 2 different apps. One for bank and another for user.

Bank app will intercept the messages from user app and respond accordingly.

Re: BBM contacts limit

Sorry, I am not sure that this approach is actually the right way to develop the application.

If I understand you correctly, it appears there is one BlackBerry in the bank that is gong to be responsible for creating messages and responding to messages for all the bank's customers.

Is that what you are expecting to develop?

Re: BBM contacts limit

There isn't a way for a third party application to directly intercept BBM chat messages and automatically reply.  There are BBM peer to peer APIs that allow you to send data from one device to another using a similar transport as BBM, but it's different than a BBM Chat session, meaning you'd have to create your own UI.  That loses the benefit of having the user send messages to a bank BBM contact, which I think you are trying to do.  Since the application has to make its own UI anyway, you may as well have the bank application communicate with your standard backing servers.

Having a single BlackBerry device act as a server for billions of users is a bad idea as well.  There is no way it'd be able to handle that type of load.  You're talking about using a mobile device as a server.  It's not meant for that type of use.

Re: BBM contacts limit

Thanks Mark,

I understand the limitation. But just didn't thought this way.

But is there any way we can receive BBM messages on server? We just want to give the liberty to BBM users so that they can do their banking right from their BBM.

Re: BBM contacts limit

No, there isn't a way to receive BBM messages on a server either.
