Backlight and no sig from 0x33

OK, I know we can ignore the "no sig" message but they're filling up my logs because my app seems to generate one every time it updates the screen.  I finally tracked it down to Backlight.enable();  I call it every time I update the screen with GPS information to keep the backlight on.  So, is there a way to keep the backlight on without generating the "no sig" message every time?   I've tried only calling enable() when the backlight is actually off, but this creates an annoying screen flicker every time the backlight timer expires.   There's an undocumented Backlight.resetElapsedTime() api which doesn't generate the "no sig" message but I'm not thirilled about using it.

Any other ideas?

Thanks...george

These messages in the event log can be ignored.  They are expected when running third party applications.  There is no way for a third party application can prevent these messages from being logged in the event log.

Re: Backlight and no sig from 0x33

The messages are kind of hard to ignore when there's 1 in the log every 5 seconds. :smileyhappy:

Is Backlight.resetElapsedTime() not in the javadocs for a specific reason?

Methods that are not listed within the JavaDocs should not be used.  These are unsupported methods that could change at any time.
