Summary

This article applies to the following:

  • BlackBerry® Java® Development Environment (BlackBerry JDE)
  • DPI223928

Problem

When you try to view the properties window of your BlackBerry JDE projects, the integrated development environment (IDE) stops responding.

Cause

The settings.rc file is corrupted.

Resolution

This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.

Workaround

Perform the following steps to work around this issue:

  1. Close the BlackBerry JDE.
  2. Delete the settings.rc file, which can be found in the bin folder of the BlackBerry JDE. The bin folder is typically found in C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.x.x\bin\.

Note: The settings.rc file contains all your BlackBerry JDE preference settings. If you delete this file, your preference settings are reset to the default values. Any custom settings must be reconfigured when you re-open the BlackBerry JDE
