Symptoms

Blackbery® JRE is not displayed in the Eclipse® Plugin or not selectable as Default JRE.

Diagnosis

When you install a BlackBerry® Java® SDK in any Eclipse it reports a successful installation but is not displayed in the Eclipse JRE list after restarting Eclipse.

This can occur if the Eclipse plug-in installer was unable to update files within the Eclipse folder.

Solution

Solution 1

Re-install the BlackBerry Java SDK when logged in as an administrator or appropriate account that has permissions to modify files within the Eclipse directory.

Solution 2

  1. Go to Windows > Preferences > Java > Installed JREs.
  2. Click on the Add Button, one Dialog screen.
  3. Click on the BlackBerry Execution Environment VM.
  4. Click On File button to open BlackBerry.ee File located in the .\Eclipse\plugins\net.rim.ejde.componentpack#.#.#_#.#.#.##\components directory
  5. Click on Next or Finish Button will add JRE To your Eclipse.. To change the JRE Just Click on the Run Configuration and Click on the Tab JRE And Choose the Alternate JRE which you want to select for your Project..

Everytime I restart my eclipse, it gives me 507 error while running simulator. But once I follow solution 2, it works perfectly. This has become routine morning task for me. Any permanent solution?
