Hi,
I just installed the Blackberry JDE 6 and the JDK(newest).
After install it ran fine, then i closed the JDE and tried to reopen it, it gives me the error message
Cannot find RIMIDEWin32Util.dll. This is a required component of the IDE.
I hav'nt changed anything this is directly after the installation!
Thanks

In my installation, the RIMIDEWin32Util.dll file is here:
C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 6.0.0\bin
If you are running on Win 7, there might be a permissions problem. Search the forum for Win 7 installation Threads. Most of them relate to Eclipse, but you might get some hints on the things that can go wrong.

I am old school (in all senses) and I use JDE.
Most people here use Eclipse. I think you will find the appropriate download links and even a tutorial if you search round here.

I run Win XP. I downgraded this PC because I had a number of issues with some legacy software I work with (as noted, I am old school). But I do have a working Win 7 environment too.
JDE is easier to install, and looks simpler, but does not have some of the bells and whistles that Eclipse has to help the programmer - such as automatically creating the right method stubs for code that implements Interfaces.
If I was starting now, I would start with Eclipse.
