Blackberry PlayBook: First QNX device, still compatible with OS6 API

source:

http://arstechnica.com/gadgets/news/2010/09/rim-unveils-playbook-tablet-with-dual-core-cpu-1080p-sup...

as speculated here before, the QNX based device is running a java VM which executes rimlets.

this means developers can write native apps with the QNX JDK as well as standard blackberry apps for OS6 (or users can use available apps).

Thanks Simon to share the link.

Its great that it supports both QNX and OS 6.......

No standalone BES integration.

This version is Wi-Fi only.

Re: Blackberry PlayBook: First QNX device, still compatible with OS6 API

Am I wrong or QNX is the wonderful realtime OS we all know?

QNX on a tabled and later on phones?

Wow, sounds great but please don't forget Java :smileyhappy:
