in our project we are developping a glucosestick which receives signals from a glucose messurement device and sends them modularly to a Blackberry via USB or ANT+Bluetooth . Unfortunately we are not sure about the power management for the ANT+Bluetooth modul:
1. We would like to provide our ANT+Bluetooth modul with the power from the Blackberry through its USB port. The problem is that the power can only flow from the USB host to the client. As far as we know, the Blackberry can only serve as USB client. Does this also apply to the new generations of Blackberry? If yes, how can the USB Host Controller like the VNC2 from FTDI Chips draw power from the Blackberry (USB client)? Perhaps with the USB On-The-GO?
2. Has the Blackberry the tendency of reaplacing bluetooth through ANT as wireless communication tool in near future?
Thank you very much for your answer!

You are asking in the wrong place. Anyone here who knows anything about future BlackBerry devices will be bound by some non disclosure. If you want speculation on what might be in new devices, I recommend carckberry.com, and they seem to get their hands on new stuff earlier than most too.
