Bluetooth Device Name is not returning what it is updated to

I've tried changing my device pairing name to: YYYY from the default XXXX, and anytime I use the.getDeviceName() method it always comes back as the default XXXX regardless of having renamed it.

Is there a way to get back what  you have set it to, YYYY?

I am using JDE 4.5.0 component package, tested on 8330.

The other question to this, is if the bluetoth device is paired already and the same model bluetooth is nearby, will that data transfer, or does it have to explicitly be paired because it's a different mac, even though it has the same device name, and likely the same default pairing password.

YOu should trace "getDeviceName" b/c the actual function to get the device name is "getFriendlyName(boolean)".

Re: Bluetooth Device Name is not returning what it is updated to

I am using BluetoothSerialPortInfo and there is no getFriendlyName() method.

The available getters are:

getClass

getDeviceAddress

getDeviceName

getDevicePageScanInfo

getServerId

getServiceName
