Can I access the system file/directories using BlackBerry extended API?

[ Edited ]

I want to scanning whole files (includes application files(.cod) and system files) in the Blackberry device.

Because, I trying to make a application that analyze files and applications.

But, When I called FileConnection.list() method in root (of 9000 simulator). I just get limited directories and files, it's not whole things.

For example, if I called list() in file:///system,
return value is

system/samples/

that's all.

I can't get file/directory list such as '/system/application', '/system/setting'.

Maybe It caused by security issues.
or... If I registered RIM code-signature, Can I get a diffrent result?

So, my question is this :

1. Is FileConnection.list() really return whole files/directories?
2. If not, Is there any solution to access system files?
3. Should I regist RIM code-signature to access system dir/files?

A FileConnection does not provide access to application (COD) files.  You can use the CodeModuleManager class to access them.

Re: Can I access the system file/directories using BlackBerry extended API?

Thank you for answer.

I got a list of installed application using CodeModuleManager.

I also can access to application basic infomation via ApplicationDescriptor.

BTW, Can I also access to inside of .cod files directly? I mean.. I want to read .cod files - return as byte [] -.

No, there are no methods for reading the raw data of installed cod files.
