I used to select Run from Eclipse.
To be honest, I don't know whether or not there are any other steps I need to follow to install the application in the Simulator

Choosing Run/Debug As in Eclipse won't populate the JAD file information in the BlackBerry smartphone simulator.
You'll need to place your JAD and COD files on a web server and install using the BlackBerry Browser in the BlackBerry smartphone simulator. I recommend cleaning the simulator first to remove existing copies of your application.

I'm getting a strange error. When I first install my app OTA, I can read the properties from the JAD file without any problems. However, when I re-install it, I cannot read them. I've traced it to my CodeModuleGroup object being null. I've tried the following to no avail:
1) App exists on the device and I simply overwrite it with the same version
2) App exists on the device and I install with a new version
3) Delete the app first and then re-install
4) I wipe the app from the security options but uncheck the email and app data
If I re-install the OS (or wipe everything) and install the app, then everything works.

What BlackBerry Smartphone model and BlackBerry device software version are you testing on? You can find this under Options, About on the BlackBerry Smartphone.
