Capture focus event of icons on HomeScreen

Hi
Is there a way to capture the focus event of an app icon on the HomeScreen?
For example, when the Tasks icon has the focus, instead of writing "Tasks" on the
home screen, I want to display the 1st 5 NonCompleted tasks; or if the Calendar is
selected then display the first 5 calendar entries.
I was looking at net.rim.blackberry.api.homescreen.HomeScreen, but found nothing useful.
Thanks,
Attila

Re: Capture focus event of icons on HomeScreen

Thanks, not very encouraging....

Well, somehow it must be... Because now, when i move the focus on the HomeScreen to the Calendar icon the the word "Calendar" is displayed... so instead of displaying a string, I want to display a panel with some other info in it like a "Today" type of Theme. But instead of the rigid Plazmic themes, I just to overwrite the function that displays "Calendar"... you know what i mean?

[ Edited ]

HomeScreen.setName() can change the name that displays

while it does not inform you of the focus maybe you can change the name based on a timer or some other periodic event to keep the value more up to date

Re: Capture focus event of icons on HomeScreen

You can change the text displayed with YOUR application icon, not the text that belongs to others.

The original post seems to say that you wish to change the text displayed for some other icon (like Tasks or Calendar).

Re: Capture focus event of icons on HomeScreen

I played with HomeScreen.setName(), it did change my app name (after I started my app), but it does not support any kind of text formatting - line breaks, colors, font styles - so I abandoned this. I'll pobably write a main screen app that will run like the ribbon and will have imges as icons to invoke my most used Apps and I can write on it at my leasure.

Thanks,

Attila
