At this point, I am ready to reinstall the OS. How do you tell the desktop manager to reinstall the device software?
Thanks

You will need to install the BlackBerry handheld software on your PC. This is specific for each carrier, but you can find a link to yours on this page.

I have it already on my PC. Desktop manager detected the change last time, and downloaded it. How do
I force a install in the desktop manager? I cannot change the checkbox, as it is greyed out, and since it
is not an upgrade, it will not do it automatically.
Thanks

If you are using the latest version of Desktop Manager select Add/Remove programs. On previous versions click on Application Loader. Part way through this process you'll see an Advanced button. Click on it and check off erase all applications and erase all application data. This should force it to reload all of the applications.

I see those options, but I cannot select the checkbox associated with them. I can add/remove all other apps. I cannot
select the checkbox for the :
1) Blackberry 4.5.0 System Software
2) Blackberry 4.5.0 Core Applications
I am using v4.5.0.15 of the Desktop manager.
Any other ideas/thoughts?
Thanks

I do not see the "Advanced" button. Here is what I see:
1) Click Application Loader
2) See 2 options a)Add/Remove and b)Update Applications
3) Click Start button under Add/Remove
4) I see a table of all the applications. Clicking the Options button, I see a pop-up that has the
Device option to "Delete all application data" and "Erase all currently installed applications".
I cannot select those checkboxes to delete them.
Is that what you were refering to? I do ont see any Advanced button option.
Thanks

Unfortunately, they are not checked. So, I cannot wipe out the data.
However, I wiped the data from Option=>Security=>General settings=>Menu=>WipeHandheld
That cleaned the data, but it still had the system software installed. Is that expected?
I installed BBMaps 1.2 and my app, but I still see the exception.
Any other big hammer?-)
Thanks

That wouldn't have reloaded the handheld software. I recommend starting a fresh post on the handheld software issue in the BlackBerry Desktop Software forum here: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board?boar
We can pick up here on the GPS issue when that has been reloaded.
