Code Signing - Development vs Production

Coming from embedded MFD development so this may be a redunant question.

I'm used to code signing being differentiated between development and production keys, with the latter being a expensive/difficult process.

For our commercial blackberry app do we really only need to purchase a $20 code signing key to release it to the public?

Thanks - Lindsay

You only need the keys if you are using RIM API's that require signing. All of the secure API's are noted in the API docs.

You do not need keys to run your code on the simulator.

There is no differentiation between "production" signed-build and non-production.

Re: Code Signing - Development vs Production

Yup, I figured that. We'll be using autostart, dial events, accessing the logs etc.

Excellent, thanks for that.
