Given that there is an Android Runtime to run Android apps on PlayBook OS enabled devices, is there going to be a "compatibility" runtime to run legacy apps written for the current Java APIs?
I'm receiving feedback from clients with long time old legacy apps, which are considering switching to another platform in prevision for a shortage of Java-enabled BBs. I've told them that there are going to be devices with OS 7 in the market for 1 or 2 years, but this is not enough for them since they might need a large stock at a given time. They also need to planify for more than 2 years.

This was originally the plan...Android and BBOS apps were to run in respective "players" for their platform. At DevCon, devs we asking about this and it eventually came out that legacy BB apps would not be getting their player. So to answer your question, NO.
